Mike and Jude learn Pickleball - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader
Mike Morig and Jude Wilbers of WREX (Channel 13, NBC) joined NIP at the Sinnissippi Courts to learn Pickleball. They were great sports against some very good local players. Thank you for the great coverage of the sport and the upcoming NIP Round Robin tournament!

The Return of Ray Monroe
Friday night, July 15th, Ray Monroe came to the to the Sinnissippi Pickleball courts. He was extremely happy to see all of his Pickleball friends and it really lifted his spirits. He managed to play a couple games and was thrilled to be included. We went out to eat at Town Hall Lounge in Loves Park. I had a reservation, but we well exceeded that and overwhelmed their small kitchen. On the way home Ray said he had a "red letter day". Thank you all that came out in support of this event. It was very heart warming to see all the support that our Pickleball community gives to each other. Click here for more pictures.

NIP Funds at RPD Foundation
Northern Illinois Pickleball now has a financial account through the Rockford Park District Foundation. This has several benefits. The Rockford Park District will handle the funds and financial paperwork regarding NIP. Since no one individual will be responsible for the account this will allow the group to ebb and flow. As NIP players pursue other paths in life, this will insure that NIP is a self-sustained group that will be around for many years to come.
Having this financial account allows us to do fundraising for NIP. These funds can be used for demonstration expenses so that the cost of growing the sport locally is not shouldered by just a few people. These funds can also be used for equipment such as nets at ISC. Establishing a bank account also lessens the strain during the organizations of tournaments. Having a savings account will allow us to have invoices paid directly so individuals need not front the money for expenses.
Pat Freed has volunteered to be the treasurer for NIP as she is a year round resident of Illinois. She will work with Lisa Alexander at RPD for record keeping and deposits.
If you would like to make a donation you are eligible for a receipt for an income tax write-off. Please send checks to:
Sponsorship Levels:Platinum - $500
Gold - $200
Silver - $100
Bronze - $50
